Brahmasutrabhasyam Audio Course by Swami Dayananda Saraswati
The Brahma Sutras
The Brahma Sutras, along with the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, comprise the three major works in the study of Vedanta. The Brahma Sutras is an analytical text that contains the key to the entire shastra. The introduction of the Brahma Sutras, known as the adhyasa bhasya, was written by Shankara.
The first four sutras present the whole teaching and in themselves are complete.
The Brahmasutras of Veda Vyasa teach us that Brahman is known as the cause of the world (jagat) through Vedanta since the statements in all the Upanishads have a committed intent to reveal just that.
Its significance is attested to by Adi Sankaracarya’s elaborate commentary on it. Swamiji will unfold the nuanced meaning of every sentence of this commentary. Listening to the Brahmasutras is a remarkable opportunity to expose oneself to the depth and breadth of Swamiji’s wisdom and understanding. Traditionally, understanding the Brahmasutras is considered necessary for assimilation of the knowledge of Brahman. Not just Swamiji’s wisdom, but his capacity to make others see clearly is what makes him a rare gem in the world of teachers today.
